A short break~

Every college students always busy with tons of assignments, midterm and lot of homework. During the busy assignment week, Jeffney and I had date out after class, to have a short break at Charlie Brown Café. It is located at KLCC, the first was opened at Penang's Straits Quay.

Recently, Charlie Brown Café becomes a hot place to go for the KL people; even other state people also wish to pay a visit. Due this café is a Charlie Brown theme café. The café is fully furnished with the Charlie brown’s characters, no matter entrance, seats, tables and also the bar counters. The café keep on playing the Charlie Brown cartoon’s theme song. The environment there was so great. It brings us back to the childhood time.

The foods there were all designed in Charlie Brown’s characters too. It was so cute and adorable. The taste is just okay, not that great as we think.

Life is full of challenge and obligations. Even how hard we also have to go through it. A life must goes on. Sometimes, even how busy we are, we can also try to stop awhile and take a break.
As taking rest is for the sake of going further.

Ipoh - Round 2

This round, I would like to introduce the famous and historically restaurant located at Ipoh:
 Nam Heong White Coffee  Restaurant

White Coffee is a must try thing when you come to visit Ipoh. This is where this coffee is
originated from. As the popularity of White Coffee grows around Malaysia and
world wide,  there are many shops that available now in Ipoh.
However, based on the local people’s taste, they still prefer to go this
old looking kopitiam called Nam Heong White Coffee.

Since white coffee has been recognized as one of the official drink of Malaysia at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, this significant brew might just be Ipoh’s biggest contribution to the country!

“The generic term “Ipoh White Coffee” in Chinese is ‘bak ko pi’; the “white” term has nothing to do with the colour in this instance, but is rather a reference to the way how the coffee is roasted. In Chinese, Bái also means ‘without, or unadulterated, nothing has been added to the coffee during the roasting process.”

Based on my coffee expert - Jane (my mom), the taste of the white coffee here is better and aromatic than many franchise Old town outlets. I support what did she said, because I am crazy for coffee.  Besides the aroma coffee, the foods available over here are awesome and nice.

First one, Chicken Hor Fun, can you see how smooth of the noodles and the fresh peel prawn?
Two, the Char Kuey Teow on banana leaf is just perfect.
Three, Hakka mee is good too.
Forth, the piping hot, fresh egg tarts has velvety smooth egg custard,
and also a stall selling ‘bak zhang’ (wrapped glutinous rice dumplings).

Address
2, Jalan Bandar Timah,
30000 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
Opens for breakfast until late afternoon only

DIY Graduation Doll

Stepping final year in my university life, I would like to thank all of my friends and lecturers who have given me help and guide. Thus, I was learning the DIY Graduation Doll from my former class teacher. She was good in design dolls and other decoration stuff.

The learning process was just listening the description from her. As in different parts of doing the doll. I won't say it's hard for us to make it but it's obviously time consuming progress.

The Final Product
The Head of The Doll
The Body of The Doll
The Face of The Doll
The Hand of The Doll

Some of the parts were using recycle items like used short pan, and most importantly the wire for using construction is also one of the materials of making this graduation doll. It's a great experience for me to learn from her. Due to her secretiveness, I could only get the picture of the doll. Anyways, thanks! ^_^

After getting the snacks, sharing would be the most important part especially with some special gifts inside the snacks which can win some "titles" or free gift. It can be students collection of those special gifts. After that, comparing would be the second step. We did compare with others what we got, as in the similarities and the differences of the inside-gift.

Chinese Dumpling

Peeps ~ busy with your work, appointment, assignments, or date?
When is the last visit to your beloved parent and siblings?
How long period you never have a proper dinner with your family?  Miss your parent home-made dishes?
It is time to “balik kampong”!! Or you can organize a gathering with your love one!! Let's made something that could let everyone feel warm and happiness.
What is that? Home-made Dumpling !!
Chinese dumplings or “Jiaozi”, with meat and vegetable fillings, is a traditional Chinese Food, which is essential during holidays in Northern China. Chinese are Masters in the Art of Making Dumplings.

The history of “jiaozi” dates back to ancient times, some 500-600 years ago. As the Spring Festival marks the start of a New Year, people choose to eat “jiaozi” to connote their wishes for good fortune in the New Year. Chinese dumpling is one of the most important foods in Chinese New Year. Since the shape of Chinese dumplings is similar to ancient Chinese gold or silver ingots, they symbolize wealth. The members of family will get together to make dumplings during the New Year's Eve.
There is no set rule as to what makes dumping fillings. They can be anything from vegetables, meat to seafood. Whatever the fillings, the wrapping skill needs to be exquisite to make “jiaozi” look attractive.
Chinese dumplings may be round or crescent-shaped, boiled or pan-fried. The filling may be sweet or savory; vegetarian or filled with meat and vegetables.

There is really easy to "produce" a bowl of dumplings ... ...
It is only take 35 minutes ... ...

First of all, spend 10 minutes to preparing all the ingredients:
- garlic, onion, carrot, spring onion, coriander (fresh, chopped fine)
- cabbage (300grams)
- 1 maggie "ikan bilis"/chicken paste cube.
- a medium size pot, boiling the water (1.5 L) while     wrapping the dumpling
- the filling you can choose either chicken, pork, beef or seafood like prawn ( 800 grams )
- 1 pack of dumpling skin (30 pieces)
- 2 packs of Enoki
- small bowl with water for dipping

The progress ... ...

 The soup
  • Fried the garlic until golden color.
  • Add the maggie paste cube into 1.5 L water.
  •  Add the cabbage into the soup and add little bit more salt and pepper.

     The filling
    • Mix garlic, onion, carrot, spring onion, coriander with the meat.
    • Add in some salt, corn flour and sasame oil to make the filling become sticky.

    The dumpling

Step 1 : Place the meat at only one side
Step 2 : Fold the dumpling skin
Step 3 : Dip some water at the corner of dumpling skin. (To make it stick more firmly)
Step 4, 5, 6 : Cook the dumpling with another pot of boiled water (medium-well)
Step 7 : Prepare a small frying pan. (If you wanted to have some fried dumpling)
Step 8 : Fried the dumpling both side untill well done.
Step 9 : Add in Enoki into the soup while fried the dumpling.
(To serve the best chewable Enoki, the best timing is not more than 3 minutes)

Before eating, you need to prepare some small dishes to contain the mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil or
pepper oil to your own taste.

    DONE!!
