Working partime is good for student?

During the busy college life, some of the students still look ways to earn more pocket money. As I do too. Working is a fun thing for me. I’m enjoy to work not only because can earn money. It also because of I can know more people and learn more through working period. I was also enjoy the time being play around and learn around with my colleagues from different sector, like students, marketing, sales, event management, and even CEO too.

Last week was PC fair; I did working for it too. I’m working as an Epson promoter. It is a brand which selling printer. More or less, I had work for this brand around 3years. Working in fair is even tired and learn more than work in outlet, as we have to approach triple more customers and get to promote more new products we might not sell in outlet. Nevertheless, we can also train our communication skill, and knowledge towards the products.

Fair is also a great chance for all the promoters from different outlets to work together to work out something. It also a chance for those high position people to work to ground knows more about the ground staff.
The crowded PC Fair

Everyone is busy pushing sales even the boss do so.
The girls. We work hard and play hard.
Our Team! We are happy family!

For some parents and teachers, students should not work partime as it will affect the studies.
However, in my point of view. Working partime not only can get extra income, it also a way to let us learn more the socialize skill and gain more experience and know more people, which it might helpful in our future.

Show Care to Our Land

As a college student, assignments are can't escape for sure, meanwhile we have to do something which out from the class room, such as doing event or showcase.

It's not a fresh thing to do showcase for me yet this showcase is the most unforgeable one and here I going to explain why I say so...

This is a showcase for one of our subject, Environmental Chemistry.
For sure, our theme of showcase is related to our subject.

Before the actual showcase happens, me and my group members were organize a campaign as to promoting the actual showcase, to collect palm-printed from public (students and lectures of college) to create awareness and as a support action from them as well.

 The campaign.
Students and lecturers showed their support for us by doing palm-printed on our banner.
By the way, to get palm-printed on our banner purposes to create awareness from them to know that our mother earth which need us so much.

Our title of showcase is "Our Atmosphere, Our Protector". Maybe this is a bored topic for you all yet it is never outdated as we really need more actions to save our mother land. The knowledge of saving the Earth is not really enough for human especially for new generation like us. We might know we have to "Go Green" as what media always mentioned but what we can do to go green?

Me =]

The Showcase Day

Board to display the information about our topic.
Green color T-shirts are the reward which will give out for those winner of our booth game.
Candies were packed nicely and give out for losers of our game as encourage.

Our hand-made earth by newspaper.
To spreading out the information about our polluted earth, we color the earth for 2 faces.
One is the land in nature green, and another is green yet a bit brown as our land is polluted.

Our banner which collected palm-printed from our college students and lectures on our campaign, a week before the showcase

Our special hand-made dice for our booth game. Green color is our theme color.
The "word search" game which request gamers to find out the word which related to our topic, such as ultraviolet, atmosphere, melanoma and so on.
The board game we prepared is the “snake” game.

Game time
We are happily to see our visitors are having fun with us.

Group photo with lecturer at our booth.

Why to say this is the most unforgettable one?

Due to our topic, we were prepared the stuffs and everything which related to it, such as the hand-made earth which by old newspapers. As we are going to bring out the theory, "Recycle, Reuse, Reduce".

Besides, we did our board, dice and etc. in colourful, to impress our target audience a very beautiful and natural world which our land should be colorful like this.

The effort we put on this showcase not simply as copy paste information, get display stuffs from sponsors. All the thingy and stuffs we prepared is mostly hand-made from us.

And the most appreciate is all group members were gave the highest cooperation, we done all the thing before it reach dateline. See how effective we are. Haha. But true, tolerance  and cooperation is the main key to doing a good job.

This is might be my last showcase on my college life, I am happy it was gave me such a good memories before I steps in society.

The hatest insect!

What you will do when you see this?

Scream? Run? Use slipper to hit it? or just ignore it?
I bet most of the people see it also will choose to run or use thing to hit it. This is the most irritating insect that i faced. Last night i just had a war with the cockroach. End up i lose it. It is because i have no "weapon" to fight with it, and i just can run away. Due that, i decided to find out the way to kill the cockroaches. Some of the steps might not new, but yet is the most deficient. Here they are:

1. Find out if you have cockroaches. Cockroaches are generally medium- large sized insects, although in some parts of the world they can get quite large. They have spiny legs and long antennae. If you see even one roach, you've undoubtedly got a lot more. The problem is they generally hide during the day, so you may need to look for them at night with a flashlight. Even if you can't find any of the insects, check cupboards and pantries for their droppings -- tiny brown slime stains or pellets.

2. Try to figure out where they're coming from. If you see cockroaches, try to follow them to figure out where they go. This is easier said than done, however, so you might need to do a little sleuthing. Check all around the house for cracks and holes through which roaches may enter. Roaches often enter through drains or vents, so you can't seal up everything.

3. Kill the roaches. There are a variety of do-it-yourself options for killing cockroaches. Some of the more well regarded of these are listed below. Try one at a time, or try them all.

  • Use an insecticide spray. Get some insecticide that is labeled for use against cockroaches, and spray wherever cockroaches may be hiding or entering the house, including along walls, in cracks, and in vents.
  • Use cockroach bait. Cockroach bait is either housed in a childproof case or applied as a gel and contains a slow-working poison mixed in with an attractive (for cockroaches) food. The roaches eat the poison and bring it back to the nest, where it eventually kills all the roaches. Place the bait in an area where you know cockroaches will encounter it.
  • Use a simple solution of soap and water. This, to some, is the easiest thing to do. Just make a light solution of soap (bath soap is fine) and water. You can splash this, spray this or just throw this on the roach. Just a little water will do , even 2 or 3 drops can kill, if used effectively. Ensure that it makes contact with the roaches head and lower abdomen (its belly if you can turn the roach over). The roach will run or try to run, but will suddenly stop and die or be almost dead in one minute. This is the easiest way to do while you have no any insecticide spray, or you dare not to use thing to hit the cockroach.
KILL ALL THE COCKROACHES AS YOU CAN!!!

7 ways to make your woman feel better when she’s on her period

Obviously men can't put themselves in the place of a woman and understand what it's like to have a menstrual cycle. Some men even persist said if women want to request for gender equity, they should not take period as an excuse to be the weak and gain the sympathy. However, if the men can stand for their lower body being kicked for seven days without any sorrow or intended. Women shall can too. Maybe you will think it’s too over, but it’s no doubt. So, man, please do something to yours woman, make them feel good when they are in “hurt”. Thinks what can do? Here’s how:

First
Realize what a woman goes through during her period.
Woman usually will get terrible stomach cramps, which are never fun, and it can be debated they are more terrible than male "pain” and can range from a dull pain that simply annoys, to a stabbing pain that a woman feel difficulties to move. Women can get mood swings, they can get headaches, restlessness, become extremely tired or sleepy, become sore in their genital regions, and their appetites can dramatically change. Symptoms will vary from woman to woman and some women may not even have symptoms at all. Periods are just generally uncomfortable and the symptoms that go along with it are never any fun.

Second
Don't act disgusted. Man, can you imagine a wet tissue is putting inside yours under for five to seven days?  So guys, please show your woman that you are not grossed out by the very thought of her menstrual cycle (even if you are). If she tries to talk to you about it, do not make faces or say “Go talk to one of your girlfriends". This will just make her feel like you don't care. Another part of this step is to help out if she needs some "errands". Go get her the "girl" stuff she is out of and pick her up some chocolate or her favorite hot drinks. It will make her feel like you really care her. “Chocolate contained iron and magnesium, can helps with tiredness, irritability and regulate mood,” said by a gynecology nurse.

Third
Help her out with things. Men can’t even know how the suffer feeling of wearing the wet tissue work under pressure and always worry when should change the pad. It’s not only mentally, it’s also physically. Woman will feel extremely tired during that period, as they are “hurting” and they will keep feeling anxiety. So guys, if she has any little chores or errands to do, please help her out. Take the stress off of her by doing the dishes or taking her things down to the laundry. This will help pick up some weight from her shoulders and give her time to relax.

Fourth
Comfort and make her feel good about herself. During women’s period, woman will easily get depress and sometimes even will have low self-esteem. So, sometimes give her a massage or give her a warm hug. Even a comforting arm rub will make her feel better. Occasionally, you may lay your head on her stomach, because the body heat can make the pressure of the cramps decrease. It might make them feel warm. Moreover, you can also give her compliments. Say something that will make her feel beautiful and intelligent. This will help boost her confidence and help a little with her mood swings.

Fifth
Make her feel loved and appreciated. When woman in period, they will always feel insecure and easily get negative thinking. At this moment, you should let her know how happy you are to have her in your life. Tell her she's a great friend, girlfriend, or wife. If she is at work or away from you, call her mobile phone, text or email them and tell her how beautiful, sweet and all-round awesome she is. It's not even describable how nice it is for a person to do this. If possible, try to get her out of the house. Ask her if she wants to go see a movie or go out for a walk in the park. If she doesn't want to leave the house, don't force her. Do things she wants to do. If you're going out to eat, let her pick the restaurant, or if you're going out to the movies, let her pick what movie to see.

Sixth
Be patient and understanding. Woman will be very emotional during period time. So guys please don’t take her action to heart but know and expect that she will take everything to heart. If things get too out of hand, take a deep breath, and leave the room to cool off. Never be rude to her. It might make her feel more fatigued and heartrending.

Seventh
Don’t ask for sex or whether she's on her period if you are unsure. During woman’s period, they have already suffering for the physically pain. If guys still keep on request for sex, you might make them feel disrespect and you are not caring their feeling. Besides that, guys should also not to keep on ask when she’s period come or when finish. It might make them feel you got other purpose. Regardless, make sure she's comfortable with you and doesn't feel offended.

So guys, now you started understand women? Know more the symptoms of period? So next time when you see the “blood”, don’t assume it is dirty and it will bring bad luck to you. Don’t forget, all of you were come from there. Next time, please help out to wash the bed sheet!

A guy: I HAVE PERIOD ?!!

Everyone know woman have menstrual cycle. During period, woman will feel anxiety and easy to get angry. But, do you know every month men also have few days “period”? And, we called it manstration.

“Manstration refers to a monthly hormonal cycle for men. Some men get cranky and bitchy for no reason regularly, just like what women go through in their monthlies (known as menstruation). This is where the term manstration comes from.”

Manstration do not have obvious symptoms like woman having period. But it same with woman’s menstrual cycle, which comes every months. During manstration, man will be abnormal for few days, they will easily get angry, or keep silent without any reason, or feel not interest to anything, even can’t pay attention to their work.

If you are guy, you can drop down 3months of your diary, whether you have happen any few from the list below without any reason:
1. Low patient for working, lags in response, forgetful.
2. No appetite to eat, even favorite foods.
3. Love to be alone. Always does something alone, and always heave a sigh.
4. Absence of mind: switch on TV but not watching it; lost of interest to favorite things, like football, online game, or sexy girls.
5. Easy to get angry by single little things and easy argue with your friends and family.
6. Feel impassive to your lover. Lost interest to your partner.
7. Feel headache, uncomfortable without any reason.
8. Feel sleepy and tired all the times even enough rest.
9. Always feel lonely and easy get depress.
10. Easy get gastric, allergic, body cramp, shoulder pain and so on.
If you found there are few from the list are happen in your diary continuous for few days, then your manstration will on that few days.
So girls, don’t only think period is only yours priority, GUYS also have it! Next time, be more considerate of your partner. Maybe they are in MANSTRATION.

Sleep with Wishes

My mother is a tailor, she will use the shredded clothes to sewing quilt for us.

Honestly, I'm very dislike this shredded-clothes-quilt and think it is ugly until I found out the meaning behind this quilt.

In Chinese tradition, to sewing a blanket by using shredded clothes is called Bai-Jia-Bei (百家被), 100 Good Wishes Quilts.

It is a custom to invite friends and family to contribute a patch of cloth with a wish for the baby as welcome and celebrate a new life.
The quilt contains the luck, energy, and good wishes from all those contributed a piece of fabric, and the quilt is then passed down from generation to generation.

Although this is a Chinese tradition, it is a great tradition for any child to be welcomed this way, so that I am got to introduce you guys the making of Bai-Jia-Bei, what a treat to read a good wishes when the child is older to know how much they were wanted!

Here are some pictures of Bai-Jia-Bei I search from net. The bottom right is the most simple and easy to make, it is making from square fabrics, you may either hand-sewing it or use sewing machine. And the bottom up and right pictures is the quilt in hexagon, and mostly people will do hand-sewing it as it will be nicer.

Here is my pictures of making the 100 Good Wishes Quilt. I was made my very first hexagon Bai-Jia-Bei on 2006, that is after my SPM and having the 3 months holiday. I do this all because from the require from mom and I am dislike to do sewing job and now I gotta do it by hand but not machine.

I am here to do a fast making procedure as it is really simple =]

Cut the papers into hexagon and shredded clothes in square.
- The size of hexagon is flexible, you can choose it bigger or smallest as you like -
-The shredded clothes must bigger than the paper hexagon -

Edge-folding the shredded clothes on the paper and sewing around to make sure shredded clothes in shape

After done all single shredded clothes into hexagon, sewing them to stitch together by the way as below
- while sewing, the shaped-hexagon-shredded-clothes should be set as front-surface-to-front-surface-

Photo from web

After a few weeks work, here my result of Bai-Jia-Bei
I'm sorry to show such ugly hand-sewing
As I'm still fresh on hand-sewing, I still can't figure out how to make it in a better pattern
So, just simple combine them in large piece

Bottom of this three picture is the back side of the quilt, yea, the paper is still there

Remove all the paper and take off all the thread which you did at the second part

And now, we are going to the final stage

Sewing all the four-side by a bigger fabric and also the whole back-side of quilt

Photo from web

Here is the nicer example of modern 100 Good Wishes Quilt

Older generation will use shredded clothes or patch of cloth, the clothes might from the grandparents' clothes, parents clothes, or even own old clothes.

Pictures above are the record of my second hand-sewing Bai-Jia-Bei on my life.
From does not like the quilt made by shredded clothes, and now love to hand-sewing it, all because of the story behind the quilt and the satisfaction when I using my hand-sewing quilt every night.
So, I decide to make more the quilt to present for every family member. And sure, I will challenge to make nicer pattern like people do.
