LET'S WALK & EAT AROUND IPOH

Talk about dim sum in Ipoh, and a few outlets come to mind. There are few famous dim sum restaurant located on Jalan Leong Sin Nam; the undisputed “Dim Sum Street” of Ipoh. But of course, along the same road, you’ll find two equally famous names, being Ming Court Hong Kong Dim Sum, Foh San, and Yoke Fook Moon, all within walking distance from each other.
However, although choices are there, but it seems that those famous one will always and always be full on customers any day. Most of the time, you will be fighting for a place to sit if you arrive any time between 7.45 AM and 10 Am.

We decided Ming Court Hong Kong Dim Sum. For sure, this restaurant is packed like sardines. Some customers have to wait at outside the restaurant.

The hottest dim sums over here are:
  • Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun
  • Har Gao
  •  Loh Mai Gai
  •  Ma Lai Gou
  •  and so on

First, let’s talk about the Chee Cheong Fun, they provide two flavor, which is prawn or pork. The sambal just perfect matched with the Chee Cheong Fun. Next, Har Gao, is very juicy and the prawn is so fresh and chewable. And then, Ma Lai Gou, as soft as sponge and the Guazi on top is crispy.

All of us just couldn’t stop to eat, besides, we still busy to take photo =)

Fried prawn roll is our favor. Of course, if you would like to take some light food, here you go the century egg porridge. It could help to refresh your mind in the early morning.

Ming Court also serves sweet soups as desserts, or Tong Sui. Especially noteworthy is the black sesame dessert- “Chi Ma Wu”, which can easily be shared between two. Not as creamy, but smooth and addictive stuff.  Whereby normally in dim sum outlets the only desserts come in the form of egg tarts, or beancurd jelly with longan, at Ming Court you can find Tong Sui, to end your meal on a sweet note.
